Professional Career

As well as formerly sitting on the board of the LEAD (Lake Economic Area Development) Partnership, Spencer was also a member of the small business association Lake 100. This member organization is committed to advancing economic development in the county by providing guidance, leadership, and advice. Its goals include fostering smart growth in Lake County, helping to protect and grow existing businesses, and supporting the improvement or creation of public infrastructure projects. Lake 100 also seeks to unite the diverse interests, views, and needs of those businesses and organizations seeking to improve the overall quality of life within the county.

Between 2012 and 2016, Spencer was an equipment intern for the Washington Commanders. As such, he was responsible for preparing the locker room for players to use and collecting, cleaning and returning players’ clothes, equipment, and towels. He also set up and broke down the field for practice, maintained the equipment to the standard necessary for proper safety, and properly inflated and prepared over 100 footballs for use each summer.

Working in an on-campus role within Elon University’s Athletic Video department in 2016, Spencer filmed football games for the livestream and shot B-roll from the sidelines of football games for use in advertisements and promotions. He also edited advertisements to be used on the livestream and stadium screen.

Spencer formerly sat on the board of LEAD, a public/private organization committed to supporting development efforts aimed at uplifting the people, communities, and businesses of Lake County. Its goal is to further grow, diversify, and unite the county’s regional economy. The organization aspires to both create and support businesses and provides the networks and resources required by prospective entrepreneurs and partnerships to help their enterprises succeed. Furthermore, LEAD assists existing businesses with issues including financing, challenges, growth opportunities, post-disaster continuity, and permits.
